Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to express my concern about the recent decision by the local council to close ‘Bright Sports and Leisure Centre’ due to the financial crisis. Most of my family members and my friends are permanent members of the centre since 2016, and we use it mainly to maintain our physique as well as for social interaction on daily basis.
As soon as the locals heard this news, they approached me and asked me to request you to reconsider your decision. In my neighbourhood, there is an old age home and many oldsters meet every day in the evening batch (5:00 pm – 7:00 pm). Your centre is the only place where they can spend their quality time. Moreover, for kids and adults, this place plays a paramount role in burning calories and creating a special bonding.
If the centre shuts down, the stress levels amongst the adults will again increase, resulting ultimately in poor mental well-being. Other than this, the closure will invite many lifestyle diseases in the community. I hope you would re-think your decision.
