I personally enjoy both types of movies, as they each have their own unique appeal. However, if I had to choose, I would say that I prefer movies that are designed to make the audience think. There are several reasons for this preference.
First and foremost, I believe that movies have the power to provoke thought and inspire discussion about important issues. When a movie addresses serious topics such as social justice, environmental sustainability, or political corruption, it has the potential to spark meaningful conversations and encourage viewers to consider different perspectives. In addition, I find that serious movies tend to have more complex and well-developed characters and storylines. While I do enjoy movies that are designed primarily to amuse and entertain, I believe that thought-provoking films have the potential to have a more profound impact on society.
